Rimba — Terms of Service

1. About Rimba

Rimba is a private companion experience that transforms eligible Strava activities into world progression, milestones, companion growth, and other game mechanics.

Rimba is designed to complement Strava, not replace it. Strava remains the source of truth for your activities, while Rimba uses athlete-authorized activity data to power your personal world.

Rimba is an independent application and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Strava, Inc.

2. Account & Authentication

To use Rimba, you must connect a valid Strava account through the official Strava OAuth authorization flow.

You are responsible for:

• Maintaining access to your Strava account
• Keeping your account credentials secure
• Ensuring information associated with your account remains accurate

You may disconnect Rimba from your Strava account at any time through:

• Rimba account settings
• Strava's "My Apps" settings

Disconnecting your account may prevent future activity synchronization and progression updates.

3. Progression & Virtual Items

Rimba uses eligible activities to power progression systems including:

• Growth XP
• World stages
• Companion growth
• Leaves
• Milestones
• Memories
• Unlockable progression content

Not all activities may qualify for progression. Rimba may exclude activities that appear duplicated, manually entered, manipulated, unsupported, or otherwise ineligible under platform rules.

No Monetary Value

Leaves, XP, milestones, memories, companion progression, world stages, and all other virtual items within Rimba are part of the game experience only.

These virtual items:

• Have no cash value
• Cannot be exchanged for money
• Do not constitute property or financial assets
• May be modified, reset, or removed as part of ongoing platform development

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Upload, create, or manipulate activity data to gain unfair progression
• Use falsified, spoofed, modified, or artificially generated activity files
• Exploit bugs, loopholes, or unintended mechanics
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to access non-public portions of the platform
• Use automated bots, scripts, scrapers, or similar tools to interfere with the service
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to user accounts, systems, or infrastructure

Rimba reserves the right to investigate suspected abuse and take appropriate action.

5. Service Changes

Rimba is an evolving product.

Features, progression systems, balancing rules, XP calculations, world stages, companion systems, memories, visual assets, and game mechanics may be added, modified, rebalanced, suspended, reset, or removed at any time.

While we aim to preserve user progression whenever possible, Rimba does not guarantee that all progression data, virtual items, or features will remain available indefinitely.

6. Suspension & Termination

Rimba may suspend or terminate access to the platform if:

• These Terms are violated
• Fraudulent or abusive activity is detected
• Activity data is intentionally manipulated
• Continued access presents a security, operational, or legal risk

Users may delete their account at any time through the platform settings.

Account deletion is governed by the Rimba Privacy Policy.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

Rimba is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis.

We make no guarantees regarding:

• Continuous availability of the service
• Uninterrupted synchronization with Strava
• Accuracy of progression calculations
• Availability of specific features
• Preservation of progression following software updates, outages, or technical failures

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Rimba and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages arising from the use of the platform.

Your use of Rimba is at your own risk.

9. Third-Party Services

Rimba relies on third-party services, including Strava, to operate certain features.

Availability, functionality, and data access may be affected by changes made by these third-party providers.

Strava data remains subject to Strava's own terms, policies, and platform requirements.

10. Changes to These Terms

These Terms may be updated from time to time.

Continued use of Rimba after updated Terms become effective constitutes acceptance of those changes.
